Our Stance on Social Justice

We understand that all lives cannot matter until Black Lives - and other Lives of Color - Matter. For over 46 years Dismas House of Nashville has worked diligently to foster community awareness and understanding of the challenges and obstacles formerly incarcerated men face upon reentry. We realize that for some of our residents, overcoming the stigma of prison is further complicated by racial injustices against people of color. We will continue to advocate for social justice across Tennessee to improve the lives of formerly incarcerated men who deserve a second chance. At Dismas House we treat everyone with dignity, respect, and fairness, and work diligently to provide a system for personal transformation and growth to help those in our care successfully transition back into society.
